The Philosophy and Foundations of Physics seminar at Udine university, UΦ²S, aims to discuss foundational issues that essentially concern physics and have profound connections with philosophy, mathematics and the history of these disciplines.

The main issues that will be addressed in the seminar include:

• the ontology of classical and contemporary physics;
• the nature of physical and mathematical entities and the relationship between mathematics and physics;
• the notion of existence and knowledge in physics, mathematics and philosophy;
• the transformations of the concepts of space and time, cause and force;
• the introduction of the concept of field;
• the concept of infinite in mathematics and physics.
